Clean and rinse cranberries and set aside. In a medium saucepan bring water, sugars and lemon to a simmer and stir. Add in cranberries and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. They will pop as they cook. You may want to add more sugar.
I start with a bag of cranberries, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup water. I taste throughout cooking and add more sugar as needed.
